Building a Solid Foundation

You may notice I spend a great deal more time talking about peaceful parenting than unschooling.

That is because I care a great deal more about who the boys become than what they know.

It really doesn't take them much time to figure out where to go if they want to learn something. They have a wealth of information at their fingertips- libraries, the internet, networks of people. They have their entire lives to continue to learn everything that strikes them as interesting or necessary at the time.

I only have one shot at helping them build a solid foundation during their childhood that will carry them on through the rest of their lives. Everything else takes a backseat to that.
